Dog, Believed Dead, Reunited With Family!

The Harworths, a military family, was told their Rotweiller mix, Zeus, had died of cancer while deployed in South Korea.    After adopting Zeus at one-year-old from the Fort Gordon Veterinary Clinic as a companion for their 2 young sons, Ben Harworth found out he was being transferred to South Korea and dogs were not permitted there.

It was the one spot where we were stationed at that wouldn’t allow pets. All the other places did, but the one place we were going did not,” explains Ben Harworth. “When we found out we couldn’t take him with us, it was heart-wrenching to try to figure out what we were going to do.”

Eventually, a friend of the family offered to take care of Zeus while the Hayworth’s were gone.  They arranged to have Zeus back with them once they returned to the United States.

Not even a year away, they got the phone call no family ever wants to receive.  Their beloved pet, Zeus, had died of cancer.
